A day with my family

Since it wa going to be chinese new year eve, my parents and i decided to go to city hall to procure the items necessary for new year decorations at home. Actually at first I was not fond at all about going. Past experiences with my mum taught me that going out with her would surely result in wasting more than 4 hours of precious time.Besides, if i stayed at home, i would surely have an enjoyable time doing " homework" on the net. *ahem*

After much persuasion from my mum ( even my father did not really want to go), we finally managed to leave home after 30 min of dily dally. I groaned as I thought of shopping with my hard-to-please mum. She never ever bought any stuff when she shopped, not because she liked window shopping, but because she never ever found any clothes, handbags etc. that could, in her words, bring out her character. *sigh* I doubt I would enjoy that trip.

When we got to our destination at 5pm, I decided to watch the newest movie released,"The Red Cliff". My father, who was always a quite stingy man, to my amazement, offered to pay for the movie tickets. To others this might had seemed nothing much, but normally my mum was the one paying for all these. My father, on the other hand, always paid for the " big sums" like bills, taxes, my school fee etc. I was suddenly seeing my father in a whole new light (lol ). The movie would be starting at 6.20, so we decided to have an early dinner first.

We went to a seafood restaurant to eat. The food their was simply supererb, and after filling my stomach with satisfying contents, we went for some shopping ( my hatest part)to digest our food.
Well, at least it did not turn out as I expected, that was, wasting time. We bought many goodies and posters for our decoration, and my mum even bought a new handbag for herself ( this was very rare as she seldom saw accesories that fit her). Finally, we went to watch the movie. Hurray!!!

The long hours of waiting paid off, it seemed. The movie was excellent, no wonder it was offered " gold with honour" award by the media. By then , when we got out of the theatre ( I was feeling rather pleased with todays trip) , it was already very late. We decided to take a quick taxi home and retire. ( my idea again :D )

That day's trip with my family is one of the most enjoyable ones I have ever gone to. Due to the fact that our family always argues whenever we have any trip, this one is rather successful. I am looking forward to the trip for the actual new year.

Something that happened in school

I've always enjoy school. There are many things to be learnt and lots of friends to play with. It is truly a fascinating place. But sometimes unfortunate things would happen to disrupt the "peace".
School is not always fun. For example, yesterday morning , as we were preparing for the first lesson, three students started making fun of poor Davian's hand again. Davian was handicaped after a car incident, and his left arm could not be used since then. I wanted to stop them, but I was afraid of causing trouble for myself :( .Even the class monitor dared not interfere. Davian pleaded them to stop, but they ignored him and continued "taunting" him. Finally, Davian, who couldn't take it any longer, furiously threw his water bottle at them to shut them up. Two of them ducked out of harm's way, but the last was not so lucky. He got hit full in the face, and water spilled all over him.

Unfortunately, at that moment, the teacher arrived. Everyone rushed to their seats at once to avoid punishment. After the teacher was being informed about the situation by the class monitor, all hell broke loose. A one hour mad scolding took place and the three boys were to spent a whole week doing detention. The whole class also suffered a bad reputation since then thanks to the incident. Ah! What luck!

The encounter with a hound

Everyone has experienced difficulties, big and small. They are merely trials that one have to undertake in order for one to grow up. Heres one of my "trial" recently.

It was a few days back, when I was on my home back from a refreshing swim at the swimming complex near my home. As I was cycling, my mind was so full of the stuff I needed to do when I got home that I only looked up when I heard a loud growl in front of me. Looking up, to my horror, I saw a huge and ferocious looking hound that I had never encountered. Feeling scared and nervous, I had half mind to turn around and use another route to head back home. Too late! I was already "face to face" with the hound before I even noticed it. It was hard to think at that time; I just wanted to run away from its snarling mouth. I quickly cycled sideways, to avoid the dog and escape at the same time. But the dog, as though seeing me as a delicious prey, started chasing me at top speed. I panicked and paddled even faster, looking back every few seconds to check if the hound was still chasing. It, however, seemed to be worn out after all that run, and gave up. I heaved a sigh of relief.

From this, I realised that no matter what difficulty you face, most of the time you can solve it just by relying on your instincts, although some are not the case. We must learn from our mistakes through them and prevent them from happening again.
