An irritating afternoon

After my encounters during today afternoon, I have truely understood what the word "irritated" feels like. You cannot even describe the sensation properly; all I can say is that it have the most "elegant" ability to annoy one to death.

After school, I went for band again to practice for SYF. But I only decided to do it for a short while. Time sure went slowly; not even half an hour had passed, and I was already bored to the extreme. Everyone did not come due to the fact that they were doing some last minute revision as there would be a test the following day, so there was few people to talk with. But still, I perservered and lasted the entire 1 hour by spending the last 10 minutes *ahem* looking at the competition between our school's badminton team versusing against other schools in the school hall, which was located very near the band room. If anyone found this out, I would get screwed :D ( so please do not tell anyone xD )

Finally, the long and torturous individuals ended, and I headed home, longing to play computer games. However, as I was very sleepy, I decided to take a short nap on the bus. Alas, destiny seemed to want to poke fun of me again. To put a long and boring story short, I overslept, and ended up in the middle of nowhere. I had to go across the road on the other side, wait for 15min for another bus, travel for another 20 min, to finally reach home.

I opened my front door feeling both furious and annoyed, but the only thing that stopped my impulse to explode was the thought of playing games till I drop. I switched on my computer and waited eagerly for it to load. Images of me playing the computer were already in my mind; my annoyance on the way home had quite evapourated, but not for long. I clicked the game icon and waited eagerly for it to load, but disappointment engulfed me whole as I discovered that I could not log into my account! Clenching my fists, I slammed my table with anger, cursing the computer.

Why could it not log in when I had logged in several times yesterday? Is god toying with me????" I thought angrily to myself.

But such a gentleman as I was, I regained my composture almost immediately. Thinking positively, I felt that maybe this was a good thing, for then I would have time to revise for the chinese test the following day, finish my homework and start writing on this blog entry at one go.
Now, I am sitting at my desk, reading and rereading my finished blog entry. After cracking my brains & brainstorming about what to write in the blog entry for the past 20min, I have finally finished this !@#$%^ blog entry! Phew! Time for some snacks, then lets start reading Manga! xD ( opps, I mean study for my exam) *lol*

PS: I did not mean any harm on the !@#$%^ thingy above. It merely means some "rude" words which I do not know what to type. :D

An unusual day...

I decided to post this because I seemed to have experienced something extraodinary weird 2 days ago, Tuesday. I endured hours of lectures, and finally, schooltime's over. Feeling relieved, I decided to go band since I was going to skip the following day's band to do project with my group.
When I entered the bandroom, i found something amiss; the room was strangely unoccupied. Since everyone in band was very enthusiastic about band and took it as top pioroty, they pratically came to band everyday from after school till 7 pm at night. That day, however, things seemed different. Theres only a handful of people at band! This shocked me for a while, but I regained my composture and went to the storeroom to check if anyone was there. As i dreaded, only 2 to 3 of my peers are there practicing.

" There's nothing wrong about this", I tried to consult myself soothingly. " They may want to have a break after days of practicing." But having said that, I eventually went to ask the JL ( junior leader) where the others where. When he admitted that even he did not know why the bandroom was so empty, I felt my heart shrink like a balloon. Theres no mood to practice anymore, but for the sake of having a place in SYF, i decided to practice afterall.

Playing with myself was no fun, and I gave it up and decided to go home after only an hour of practicing. What a weird and unlucky day, I thought to myself.

Yugioh dueling is Fun!!!

Yesterday afternoon, after my tormenting band prac, I was dead tired. I slowly dragged my feet on the hard, cold ground, hoping for something relaxing to do. Then, I remembered that Yek Teng had introduced me to a shop where pro yu-gi-oh dulists roam everyday. I decided to give it a shot .( since i got nothing better to do except schoolwork anyway :D)

The journey was quite torturous. The bus was soooo crowded that i had to sqeeze around. But the wait was worthwhile after all. The moment I entered the shop, I knew instantly that it was no originary place. There was many secondary school pupils there ; dueling, scanning cards from spare box, trading, etc. IT was so awesome that I immediately submerged myself in it. To my greatest astonishment, I lost the duel for the 1st few matches. Now, thinking back, I think I know why i lost; it is because I did not know half of the cards my opponent ( one pupil of chong cheng)have. I somehow got myself into the mood ( after losing another match lol) and eventually won! Well, because I was not a Yugioh freak as them ( those who spent thousands and thousands on YU-gi-oh cards), my cards obviously were not as good as theirs. Yet I still won! After tasting the sweet taste of victory, I was of course eager to taste somemore. To put a long story short, I crushed the other secondary pupils xD. It was so refreshing.

Though i wanted to play till i drop, it was quite late, and I still had my homework to finish. I resisted the temptation to continue playing and went home. ( with my head spinning)

I know that I should put my studies before playing, but .... As they say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. :D

( that night, I rushed my homework till 12 !!!)

A day with my family

Since it wa going to be chinese new year eve, my parents and i decided to go to city hall to procure the items necessary for new year decorations at home. Actually at first I was not fond at all about going. Past experiences with my mum taught me that going out with her would surely result in wasting more than 4 hours of precious time.Besides, if i stayed at home, i would surely have an enjoyable time doing " homework" on the net. *ahem*

After much persuasion from my mum ( even my father did not really want to go), we finally managed to leave home after 30 min of dily dally. I groaned as I thought of shopping with my hard-to-please mum. She never ever bought any stuff when she shopped, not because she liked window shopping, but because she never ever found any clothes, handbags etc. that could, in her words, bring out her character. *sigh* I doubt I would enjoy that trip.

When we got to our destination at 5pm, I decided to watch the newest movie released,"The Red Cliff". My father, who was always a quite stingy man, to my amazement, offered to pay for the movie tickets. To others this might had seemed nothing much, but normally my mum was the one paying for all these. My father, on the other hand, always paid for the " big sums" like bills, taxes, my school fee etc. I was suddenly seeing my father in a whole new light (lol ). The movie would be starting at 6.20, so we decided to have an early dinner first.

We went to a seafood restaurant to eat. The food their was simply supererb, and after filling my stomach with satisfying contents, we went for some shopping ( my hatest part)to digest our food.
Well, at least it did not turn out as I expected, that was, wasting time. We bought many goodies and posters for our decoration, and my mum even bought a new handbag for herself ( this was very rare as she seldom saw accesories that fit her). Finally, we went to watch the movie. Hurray!!!

The long hours of waiting paid off, it seemed. The movie was excellent, no wonder it was offered " gold with honour" award by the media. By then , when we got out of the theatre ( I was feeling rather pleased with todays trip) , it was already very late. We decided to take a quick taxi home and retire. ( my idea again :D )

That day's trip with my family is one of the most enjoyable ones I have ever gone to. Due to the fact that our family always argues whenever we have any trip, this one is rather successful. I am looking forward to the trip for the actual new year.

Something that happened in school

I've always enjoy school. There are many things to be learnt and lots of friends to play with. It is truly a fascinating place. But sometimes unfortunate things would happen to disrupt the "peace".
School is not always fun. For example, yesterday morning , as we were preparing for the first lesson, three students started making fun of poor Davian's hand again. Davian was handicaped after a car incident, and his left arm could not be used since then. I wanted to stop them, but I was afraid of causing trouble for myself :( .Even the class monitor dared not interfere. Davian pleaded them to stop, but they ignored him and continued "taunting" him. Finally, Davian, who couldn't take it any longer, furiously threw his water bottle at them to shut them up. Two of them ducked out of harm's way, but the last was not so lucky. He got hit full in the face, and water spilled all over him.

Unfortunately, at that moment, the teacher arrived. Everyone rushed to their seats at once to avoid punishment. After the teacher was being informed about the situation by the class monitor, all hell broke loose. A one hour mad scolding took place and the three boys were to spent a whole week doing detention. The whole class also suffered a bad reputation since then thanks to the incident. Ah! What luck!

The encounter with a hound

Everyone has experienced difficulties, big and small. They are merely trials that one have to undertake in order for one to grow up. Heres one of my "trial" recently.

It was a few days back, when I was on my home back from a refreshing swim at the swimming complex near my home. As I was cycling, my mind was so full of the stuff I needed to do when I got home that I only looked up when I heard a loud growl in front of me. Looking up, to my horror, I saw a huge and ferocious looking hound that I had never encountered. Feeling scared and nervous, I had half mind to turn around and use another route to head back home. Too late! I was already "face to face" with the hound before I even noticed it. It was hard to think at that time; I just wanted to run away from its snarling mouth. I quickly cycled sideways, to avoid the dog and escape at the same time. But the dog, as though seeing me as a delicious prey, started chasing me at top speed. I panicked and paddled even faster, looking back every few seconds to check if the hound was still chasing. It, however, seemed to be worn out after all that run, and gave up. I heaved a sigh of relief.

From this, I realised that no matter what difficulty you face, most of the time you can solve it just by relying on your instincts, although some are not the case. We must learn from our mistakes through them and prevent them from happening again.
